Xiphos Studios is pleased to announce that we are beginning development on a first person role playing game. The game, currently unnamed, will feature support for the upcoming Oculus Rift, a full immersion 3D virtual reality headset.
We will be releasing more information and artwork during the course of development, so keep checking back for updates!

the game should have ability to do everyday think in life like sport, sleep, eat, and of course romance to better emphasize the virtual REALITY part of the game. it would have great impact on the player.
Sword Art Online?
You guys should DEFINITELY make a VRMMORPG. I have dreamed of this idea for years and cannot wait to experience it first hand
I’m VERY interested in Oculus Rift RPG’s,so I will be checking this page regulary for updates,I hope that game to be released
@Insociable- Sword Art Online definitely.
Cheers!
@Xiphos- Please include daily routines such as eating/sleeping/romance just like Flaxias said and the characters, you should make it PERSONAL- meaning it should be customizable in a unique way, so no other players would have the same form! Also, just like Sword Art Online (It’s an anime about VRMMORPG, 10000000/10, way too good) you could perhaps make the player reflect his/her actual looks (or similar) to maximize the immersion and the feeling of reality. Also, please don’t make those factions and 20 races (sarcastic) like World of Warcraft! I do not want you to ruin your game like WoW! If you need reference to an EPIC/FANTASTIC/EXCEPTIONAL VRMMORPG, try checking out Sword Art Online, or a new Korean MMORPG called Archeage. Both VR/MMORPGs allow the player to carry out daily routine/ fantasy necessities such as building homes, player killing, jail (not sure in SAO, but in Archeage), and etc. I’m looking forward for your new masterpiece and please contact me if you’ve read my comment, because I wish to hear more about your plans if it’s ok to share
Also, could you take ideas from us? The game is made for us to enjoy, and people will be more than happy to give moderate and smart suggestions and ideas to improve your game
Looks great!! C: I am really looking forward to getting the system and this game!(I know this game will be awesome and exiting!)
I’m very intrigued by the Oculus Rift and RPG’s are what i’m interested in!
Would be sweet if it was Co-Op, and/or MMO! Really looking foward to this type of technology! Keep up the good work!
please make something like sword art online!!!!!!!!
Please, don’t be morons and post to make it like Sword Art Online. That world is a fantasy. This is REALITY. Virtual Reality is soon to be part of our reality, but such features(eat, drink, sleep), are redundant if you aren’t trapped inside. Which we won’t be. It’s a story, and a good one, but it has no place here. Maybe once we solve the problem with accelerated Virtual Reality, we can think about adding those little bits.(If anyone mentions Accel World I’ll cry). However, VR Eating, sleeping etc would cause many problems in normal time. Such as people forgetting to do such things in the real world.
Cannot wait to see what Xiphos Studios has in store for us, but if there is one request I could have granted, it’s that they DON’T take ideas from all the idiots crying out for this to be exactly like an anime they’ve watched(I did too, but as a programmer, I know it’s not actually feasible). Some of us have wished for this too long to have the hype caused by anime fans ruin the entire experience, by rushing into this.
I have to agree, although i’m a big fan of the anime SAO, sleeping in game for example would be overkill, although eating and drinking might be a nice sociable feature in the future, i just hope the game play is fluid, if you think on it a bit SAO is only fun viewed from a 3rd person perspective, guns will probably dominate in this genre, swords would be very challenging to use in such a game, most of us haven’t even held a sword… I imagine imputing that kind of combat in a game will be harder than you’d think, and using it even worse. Of course nothing is impossible, i wonder if with a full-body immersion system it might eventually be an interesting experience, until then i will be happy with any MMO they can create in VR.
I would like to know if you have a contact us email or a way to get in touch im interested to see where you would like to go with such project utilizing the new oculus rift.
2015 : First virtual reality game.
2019 : First entire immersion.
2025 : All of humanity use the VR.
2050 : Dawn of humanity.
I’m very interested in what you plan to do with this game, and how you plan to integrate virtual reality into it, if you guys ever get stuck, or don’t really have a good idea of what you would want to do for your game, contact me, I may have some interesting ideas for a game you may want to take a look at.
